Cesteria – L’intreccio: tecnica e progetti (Paola Romanelli)
Di questo manule di Paola Romanelli, la Fabbri ha pubblicato diverse versioni più o meno abbreviate e addirittura una con un VHS (che tra l’altro non è niente male, anche se breve). Questa edizione è completa, bella grande e con la copertina rigida, quindi è pià da scaffale che da uso, tuttavia essendo il contenuto abbastanza buono sarà utile ai principianti. Le tecniche sono spiegate o meglio mostrate con foto in maniera abbastanza sommaria, tuttavia comprensibile e ci sono diversi progetti adatti ai principianti.
Quindi l’ultimo terzo del libro è costituito da foto: belle foto di cesti di tutti i tipi e gli usi che dovrebbero ispirare il futuro cestaio. In effetti l’80% del libro è fatto da foto quindi si tratta di un manuale che serve più ad incuriosire che ad insegnare. Tuttavia svolge egregiamente questo compito, inoltre mi piace lo spirito creativo dell’autrice e la filosofia di fondo che spinge a provare tutte le tecniche (compresa la tintura) e tutti i materiali naturali (anche non canonici).
NB la casa editrice ha messo on line uno dei progetti consultabile gratuitamente ossia il Cesto a coste da appendere.
Fabbri has published several more or less abbreviated versions of this manual by Paola Romanelli and even one with a VHS (which is not bad, albeit short). This edition is complete, beautiful large and with a hard cover, so it is more bookshelf than use, however, being the content good enough it will be useful for beginners. The techniques are explained or better shown with photos in a fairly summary, yet understandable way and there are several projects suitable for beginners.
So the last third of the book consists of photos: beautiful photos of baskets of all types and uses that should inspire the future basket maker. In fact 80% of the book is made of photos so it is a manual that serves more to intrigue than to teach. However it does this task very well, I also like the creative spirit of the author and the underlying philosophy that pushes us to try all the techniques (including dyeing) and all natural materials (even non-canonical).
NB the publishing house has put online one of the projects that can be consulted for free, namely the ribbed basket to hang.
